In some other previous forums i read that the ga16de gearbox mounts directly to the cg13de engine.

does this mean that if you bought a ga16de motor and wanted to put it into a micra it could possibly mount up to the orginal gearbox?

Would this fit and work?

As far as I know it will be hard yakka trying to fit in the GA16DE.

1. You have to cut part of the engine bay area to make room for the pulleys.

2. The CG13DE RS5F30A 'box will not mount to the CG series engines (As far as I can recall, correct me if I'm wrong)

3. The GA16DE flywheel will not mate up to the RS5F30A 'box

In short its a LOT of work to get it to fit, however it is possible.

I think the micra's 30a gearbox would fit to a GA16 engine, BUT it will be weak for a GA16DE and you might kill it from the torque eventually.

And yes the GA16's aren't a direct drop into the micra's engine bay after all.

GA15DE was the most powerful motor to use the RS5F30A. All GA16 versions used RS5F31A (or V).
There were some pictures posted in the past showing a cutout required to the RHS chassis rail to fit the GA16. Maybe the pulleys could be moddded?
There have also been pictures posted of an SR20 fitting between the chassis rails. SR has to be a bigger motor.
