Ecu question

Question is this ive had 2 ecu,s pickup rings and keys with correct chips sitting for around 6 months now will these remember the codes thats in them or do they lose memory (ecu) after a while having no battery connected to them. I know this may seem a daft question but the looming harness changes and engine swap prompts this enquiry as I dont want to get all the work done only to have these fail.......

Should not in my view as the codes are stored in non-volatile memory.
