Dodgy locks on 2001 micra

The central locking on my Micra went wrong some time ago so I disconnected it and have been using the key to open the car but now the locks are getting increasingly stubborn, and a squirt of oil doesn't help much. I don't think it's the key as I have two keys and I have trouble with both of them, and I have problems with both front doors but never the ignition or the tailgate.

I asked a dealer what it would cost for two keys and four locks (tail gate, steering, two front doors) and it came to more than £600 just for the parts, where the car is worth at most £1000. I don't want to think what they'd charge me for labour, and I didn't even ask about the central locking controller.

Is there any cheaper alternative to using genuine Nissan parts for either the central locking controller or the locks? I know I could go to a breakers, but I'd prefer to source new parts. I can travel if necessary - perhaps there is a Nissan specialist somewhere (not a dealer) who could do this cheaper? Or should I just bite the bullet, pay the dealer whatever it takes and stop complaining?

Thanks for any advice!
Simon.
