Was wondering how to change the colour of the dashboard, its the standard grey colour but i want it black and a mate reckons it can be resprayed easily, but I didnt think that was the way and thought it needs to be completely re trimmed with new material (whatever the material is :S). Is he right? new to the scene :upside: so might sound a bit stupid!!

Your mates right you can spray the dashboard and other plastic trim. There are different methods and people recommend different types of paint to use.

For example you can sand down the dashboard then spray it with gloss to give a smooth solid look, or you can leave it and just put matte paint on straight away to give the more rough look matte paint gives.

Some people also recommend using a laquer to protect the paint but on sunny days the sun can reflect off it and into your eyes.

Im sure someone with more experience can give you some more pointers

also the paint can flake off and scratch off ive seen it.. antoney and toney painted there dash boards and they looked a good job.

matt look is what i was going for, would it not need sanding down first then?

Depends how long you want it to last. The whole point of sanding is to create a rough surface for the paint to key to. If you leave it smooth, the paint will flake off in no time. Take your time and sand it down, then the paint will last for a long time.
