my debit cards got loads of dirt build up on the black strip on the back, and its making it hard to use in cash machines,

what can i use to clean it safely without damaging it as its not coming off by rubbing it only way to make some bits move is by using my finger nail, i think its where its been in my wallet on top of another card thats made it happen

Go to the bank,

Tell them the chip doesnt read anymore, and they'll issue a new card. New card number means more secure and you get a shiny new card!

Yeah you probably won't be able to use your old one.

Card number would remain the same i think, the only difference is a new security code on the back and expiry date

Despite sticking cards in wallets etc, they still somehow seem to attract the dirt & marks you are referring to!
