CLUTCH HELP!!

hey guys
so driving along yesterday put in the clutch and i noticed a crack noise, now when i put in the clutch it sticks and takes about 2-3 seconds for the pedal to come back and i have to push the pedal right to the ground to engage when before i didnt.
does this mean i need a new clutch or could it be the cable?

Sounds almost like the pressure plate or throwout bearing has failed.
I would also be checking the cable where it attaches to the gearbox arm.

it might be one of the arms broken on the fork that operates the thrust bearing ?

the clutch cable strands can make a bit of noise when they part ..sounds like the inner cable has split going from past experience
