Changing cam shims

Hi
Can anyone help me?

I've just replaced the cams on my Mica and need to replace a couple of the shims to get the valve clearance right.

The Haynes manual says to use an old C spanner to depress the "buckets" and slide the shim out. But if I do tat there isn't room as the spanner is in the way.

The Micra workshop manual shows another tool which is used once the cup is depressed which goes between the cam lobe and the cam carrier which would make room to get the shim out.

How do other people do it?

Mike
