i think what pete is saying is that the CG13 reaches higher up the load scale tho welly, and as a result pulls more timing (ie, retards more)

pete seems to be saying that the 1.0 and 1.3 timing maps are the same, but because the 1.3 has more power it reaches higher up the load table (and hence will pull more timing)

Not be going with a standalone, got a friend with a focus hes turboed 200bhp standard ecu, 410bhp 3sgte st205 standard ecu ways and means around things spark, mixtute etc finding that sweet spot

do they have knock sensors tho welly ? most ecu,s are more forgiving than the CG, and many people just run loads of retard on the dizzy, but that makes the car very sluggish when daily driving
you go and retard your dizzy 30 deg and drive it like that for a week

410bhp 3sgte st205 standard ecu

Interesting concept
After 350 the standard ecu runs extremely rich and a piggyback is necessary.
Especially rev3s as there's no maf its done by map sensor alone as far as I remember

Being a mechanic for several years doesn't affect anything computers have their limitations

Local place tweaked mine but we upgraded to a motec ecu because the standard one couldn't hack it past 350
I know the st205 ecu is tuneable but only to an extent?!

Rev1 block being weaker than a rev2 scdb :/

165/185 & 205 all had 86mm bore?
Sounds like alot of work when the rev3 alone is capable of 400hp

Anyone can be impressed by a quick car. Lee dawes is not the be all and end all. He's one person with 1 opinion.
