hi everyone

i recently bought a remote central locking kit from ebay
and it says i need to find out which wires in my current central locking do what
so i took off my door card and found 4 wires
1 is orange/blue
1 is black
1 is brown/white
1 is red/yellow

to install the kit i need to know which is lock, unlock and common

if anybody has already worked this out please help because im stumped
thanks

u have brought a central locking kit...it asks you to connect to ur "existing" central locking...do u c what i c...but colours dont mean anything as not all manufacters use same referencing of them ie black usually is ground but it might not b etc...

I think he's actually just bought a kit that converts his current central locking to remote.

I'll see if the Haynes has any information.

Hmm, I'm not too great at deciphering wiring diagrams, but based on the Haynes and what you've said you found (wire colours) it looks like you have a K11 with deadlocks.

Here's some of the wiring diagrams in case anyone can understand them better than me...

acording to haynes then
drivers door should be
black = ground
purple / green = lock
gray / green = unlock
and the common seams to work of the live from the lock and unlock

sorry i forgot to mention that the kit i bought turns my current factory central locking into a remote system

on the circuit diagram
purple / green = lock .. in my door i have a orange/blue wire which according to the circuit diagram is connected to the purple/green
so am i right in thinking that my lock wire is orange/blue?

same situation with the unlock being grey/green on the diagram but i have a brown/white

so where can i tap into the live for the common???
(the motor can spin both ways so will the live change sides???)

can anyone find where the common wire is???

this is driving me nuts!!!

please help
