having changed my cg10 to a 1.3 (see thread; here ) i used the piston rings from the cg13, i know it's not clever and it'll probably cost me more now, but i couldn't afford the £100 ish from nissan for a new set when i re-built the engine.
it seemed ok to start with but now its putting out quite alot of smoke out of the exhaust. it seems both blue and black.
i know blue is burning oil, does black mean a rich mixture?
what's causing black smoke?
is the blue probably worn rings or valve stem oil seals? is there a way to check?
is it worth stripping again to rectify or should i just stick in a cg13 and be done with it? i only did it this way originally to see if it could be done. curiosity and all that!
any advice is welcome.
