i run the tyres at sidewall max pressure (40 ish psi, depending on brand) and have got the weight of the car down to 760kg, and run the alternator at 1/2 speed with very low belt tension, and idler-less waterpump belt (at low tension again)

"how do you make your alternator run at half speed?

Won't the alternator just need to 'engage' for more time to keep the battery charged?

with a 2 x bigger pulley (in pic) which gives it 3 x the belt contact (so you can run far less tension) and i guess it would "engage" for longer (albeit at a lower output) but my 30w solar panel in the roof helps out there tho

Wheel alignment to make toe 0 when driving
Hotter thermostat.
Biscuit tyres (think space saver wheels at 65psi)
Ensuring MAF, temperature sensor & O2 sensor are working correctly.
Remap to run leaner.

extreme crash diet - strip absolute all non essentials out the car (all seats, dash, carpet, sound proof, roof lining, all plastic panels, sunroof, heating/vent system, stereo, speakers, all optional extras, spare wheel, toolbag, jack, rear wiper, fit driver bucket seat)

remove mudguards & aerial

board up sunroof, rear wheel arch, wheels

make underfloor tray?

make sure all brakes do not bind at all

thinner engine & gearbox oil

smaller battery

replace with perspex windows

single wiper mod

adopt pulse & glide driving style when at speed, highest gear as possible, low rev, open throttle

try to not touch brakes to slow down, use engine braking

never disconnect engine from gearbox whilst moving above 5mph (ie, leave in neutral or keep clutch dipped)

keep at or below 60mph, stay in slow lanes

draft behind lorries

and go on diet optionally wear nothing :p
