Back after 6 years.....with issues

Now then, how it going?

6 years (near enough anyways) it's been since I was last on here when I first passed my driving test and got my first car, 1.0 nissan micra 3 door in white. Now many cars down the line later I now have myself another one I picked up for £155 as a cheap 2nd run around and after now spending the evening having a really good poke around I have discovered that there is something causing a "permanent live " feed to things like the wipers and blowers to work when the key isn't even in the ignition, what might cause this?

I have other faults, but I'll get to them in time. Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated

Cheers
Joe

Have you got intermittent wipers working?, is there a little black box attached to the bulk head by wiper motor? I couldnt see it in the pic of your air sucker. Just wondering if someone has wired them direct to cut out the relay.

Funny you should mention that. I did have an issue to begin with that the first setting would go 1/3 up the windscreen then stop, then do another 1/3, then 1/3 back down and so on. As the motor was also dancing around I pulled it off, tightened up and greased the linkages, this fixed the motor movement. We also had a look at the relay and one of the connection points was corroded so after some scraping on the contact , it's working as it should.... For now.

Well! The problem has been solved. It looks like its a bad earth/connection/ what ever linked into the rear de mister switch as after I unplugged the switch and only this switch, all the random ass events stopped happening, so, fingers crossed, it's just that.

Now I can move on to re jigging the front wings, under sealing, tracking, 2 tyres, tax ect ext

Oh
Keep your clothes on bud - lol
oh lord.... Auto correct fails me yet again.

Done some calculations today and another £100 should out the car into a road worthy condition, tyres, tracking, underseal, cv joint, plus a few other small bits and I may need a new battery but it should last another month or so

Quick update: V5 has arrived so the car is officially MINE!! and I'm a few days closer to getting it taxed and insured =D woooop!!

Still havnt told the other half though =P

Nnnnneeeeeeeeext update!!

Took a stuff wire brush to the underside of the car, got rid of all the rust and under sealed everything I could within eye sight. Battery is well and truly holding its charge. Altered the position of the clutch peddle as it was sitting waaaaaayyyyy too high. Narrowed down the previous wiring fault to the yellow wire feeding the stereo, unplugged it... Problem gone =D

Next task is to tackle the cv joint, tyres and tracking

Well, another quick update. I'm no closer to getting the CV joint and tyres sorted however, I'm slightly closer to working out where I'm going with the "look" of the car and I just know it's not going to be to everyone's taste..... But isn't that the idea of "modding"? Especially when they are free mods?

Also, the missis now knows about the car and has said she is going to buy me this as a belated birthday present!!

Also on the cars will be a few slipknot/ random stickers, more lights of the roof rack and a skull and cross bones flag for the ariel, after all, micra's do look like RC cars with the ariel up!!

Another day....another update!!

We has power!!!

And a nice switch to boot

Everything is wrired up with 17amp wiring and fused with a 30amp fuse, (only one I had spare) direct to the battery in the thoughts that I may one day add at least 2 more lights if I can find another matching pair.

Newest update:

Fitting of huge back box = fail!! Sliced my hand open, fitting kit is too big so needs..... Moddifying =P

Fitting of new CV joint = fail!! Internal diameter of said CV joint is too big, will have to wait till after work tomorrow and try another one >.<

Man I hate set backs

Ooooft..... All very tempting =P however.... I'm seting for a correct fitting, none clunking CV joint and a stupidly huge back box =P I mean honestly, it's huge, I can fit my fist inside it!!! Haha
