2008 micra 1.6 sport sr, do i buy one ?

The new Micra 2004 on seem to suffer from electric power steering failures, does anybody know if this is a real problem, has it been resolved in the newer models, as i am thinking about buying a 2008 1.6 sport sr with 5000 miles on it. any comments or help greatly appreciated !

If you told me where it was, I'd buy it out from underneath you! I've put 98,000 miles on mine from new and it's never been a bit of bother - timing chain and power steering have been fine. Buy it - you'll love it (Y).

as far as i`m aware the steering issues may happen on any k12 micra i`m not sure they ever completely managed to remove the possibilty of it happening but it is not garunteed to happen i think it`s like 1 in 1000 that it happens to i was one of the unlucky ones however my mums micra same age and spec has had no issues whatsoever if it`s a 2008 with that low milage then i`d go for it if it`s a a good price
