How bad are rusty calipers as far as MOT's are concered?

On my k11 1.3 it cost me £1800 with churchill and that was the cheapest i could find anywhere.

If you are getting symptoms like that, definately take a look at your boiler's flame. If they are orange then that could well be the cause. All the flames should be blue.

I wasn't implying that underseal would fool an MOT, but i was wondering how bad it has to be before it needs fixing. What would i need to do to fix it? It does look quite bad as if it has gone through to the metal, and pretty much everything under the car has rusted, the axels, wheel arches...

Had a look underneath my micra the other day and the rust looks quite bad, so what are my options? Do i get it fixed proffessionally? Paint over it? Or just drive it till the MOT runs out in july and hope it passes? If i can get some cheap anti-rust paint that would be good, but i'm sure...

I have to agree, the same thing happened with the K11's for me. Started out distastful, but after a while they grew on me, and i havn't looked back since i bought one. That's what's happening with the K12's now, those headlamps still make me shiver a little, but the overall look of the car...

That's good, i really like the seat, but the harnesses are a bit impractical anyway. And if they're not safe then I will certainly be taking them out.

So aside from the way the harnesses are fitted, would the seats be fine? If left with the original seatbelts?

Hi, i recently bought a paid of bucket seats with harnesses from the site and now i'm wondering whether or not they'd pass an MOT. They're three point harnesses that are bolted twice to the underside of the seat and then to the bolt from the old front seat belts, and buckle up at the front...

If you're not at fault your insurance doesn't go up. But it is frustrating that they will readily write off cars which could easily be fixed.

Well i did another quote with one years no claims and as an 18 year old, they gave me a £600 quote for the 1.3.

It sounds like i got ripped off. Paying £1800 for the year on a 1.3 slx with my brother. Fully Comp with Churchill. Is my first year of driving, and i was 17 when i bought the policy. So long as I don't crash should go down by a bit next year...

I've also had this problem a few times. If you can then bump starting it works. Does anyone know how to actually prevent this from happening at all besides from not driving the car very short distances?

Hmm, i'd also be a bit embarassed of the fact my micra has had the sum total of one aesthetic change, whereas everyone else's will be modded out.

Don't I need a Silver or above membership for that? I only opted for the Bronze because I just wanted to get on a good micra forum, hadn't really thought about going to meets.
