do you think the cga3de head (incl. cams) will bolt straight onto a coilpack cg10de (with cg13 internals?) even tho the bore sizes are slightly different? (sorry my understanding of engines is limited)

seem to have fixed it by hoovering parts of the engine, adding a drop of redex topped off by ragging the tits off it for 3 hours :D doubt that'll help ne1 tho but still :P

i've swapped the plugs & it uses ignition coil packs rather then HT leads... and i've checked the coil packs. Its probably something electrical, but if it was i dont see how being under load (ie going up a hill) would affect it. (because when its under load it misfires at a lower rev then if...

i know very little about cars, but it started when i topped up with some oil, and my brothers fiesta started doing it abit aswell (misfiring at high-rpm) could also have started around the same time the oil was topped up. (coz we did it at the same time in both cars). if the oil was the wrong...

lol its a CG10DE but as its a newer one it does have coil packs... tested them all though and no luck :(

Im sorry this post isnt actually going to solve your problem, but i have a 2001 micra mis-firing at high rpms (5500 rpm) or (4500 rpm under load). no1 on this site seemed to be able to help so id b intrested in knowing how you manage to fix this... cheers :)

thanks for the reply. Yes, its the new model and has the direct ignition, ive tested all the coils and they're all fine.. Could it be ECU/Electrical? thanks!

Just thought id mention its only done 40,000 miles (thats about 65,000 km i THINK), so i dont think (and hope its not) the throttle body... thanks!!

2001 uk 1.0 nissan micra seems to misfire at high-rpm (5000-6000) and it can be different each time... for example, sometimes it wont start misfiring til 6000 but sometimes it'll start at 5000rpm. occasionally it doesnt start as smoothly as it should do either. i have tried changing the spark...

okay, thanks for the help. It does have a tacho because i fitted a new set of clocks from an Micra Si. its year 2000 (not a 200) S(which is the standard UK model) nissan micra. i dont think its the air cleaner because i've checked that... thanks :)

When the car is idling there seems to be a continuos ticking sound coming from the engine, is this normal? Also occasionally it has trouble starting. The idle rev seems perfectly normal, and i dont think performance has been impaired. Thanks v. much :) p.s. i read this is some of the symptoms...
