Hi All Was not sure where to put this but Mychael (mipcar) passed away on Tuesday the 2nd July after a 19 month battle with cancer. I will be keep using Mikes green micra (Duke) and hope to get it to the 500,000k's which was Mike's aim. We traded my red micra in on the 2010 xtrail as we needed...

If comfort and low NVH were the crieria.

It was as bland as a brown paper bag but what it did it did well. Had not thought of a Mazda 6. Might go check some of them out.

We do too much short stop/start runs. Not diesels forte.

Test drove the Avalon today. Only 74,000k's on it. Immaculate inside. Very, very bland and the dash dates it, only radio I've seen with both a cassette and cd player. Very smooth tranny, lots of go, no rattles. Huge boot.

Correct, I think I got mine for $18K with power steering but no air, it's a series one. The Hyundai's and Festivas (of that era) were not in the same quality as they are now. Yep, Dave Leyton from Tassie. I made friends with Dave back when he lived in Tassie but bought "Hack" from him when he...

I wonder as well, probably not a lot I would think. I'm a bit older then your average Micra member who more often then not got into Micras as their first car as opposed to first new car. The Micra we traded whilst same age has less K's but has not mechanically travelled as well, though...

What would you guys buy? I've got around $23k to spend and a second hand car. Top priority for this one is comfort, so quiet, smooth ride, good for touring. Don't want a land barge it still needs to have a bit of punch to it and go around corners but cars with a good NVH score are the first...

Sad to annnounce that we are soon to be a one Micra family. Our Red turbo Micra has been traded at a Nissan dealership towards a 2010 Nissan X-Trail. Still keeping my original Green car which I've owned since new and is still going strong at 418,000k's

    Part numbers required. For gearbox.

Well finally got the correct bearings and Nissan had the seals in Australia. All good to go now with re-assembly. Parts are at mates place but I can get the part numbers and bearing part numbers over the next day if anyone wants them.

I think you mean a micrometer or probably really calipers but yeah, the bearing place did that but my mate who helped me pull down the box and use his press to get the old bearing off took one look at what they sold me and said it was the wrong one.

Yes mate, already done that however the bearing place could not match up the bearing size or the seals for me.

If NSM reads this, Nick do you still have access to parts? For anyone else reading this I need to get the part numbers for all the gearbox seals and (I think) the input shaft bearing. The one that most commonly fails, the flat (not tapered roller) bearing. Thanks. Mike
