Needed a 26mm deep socket but was able to force 1" to pull out this type of sender. Replaced with normal 24mm sender. All sorted, no more oil leaks.

The hex corners look different. Mine might already be a replacement that's why it's not 24mm. Hope someone can help what's the size or how can I pull it out. Space is too tight.

Thanks for your reply. Could you tell from the photo if this is the original switch or some replacement? Sockets I used were deep BTW.

Tried 24, 25 and 1". 27 is too big. Would mean 26 but there's no size that in metric. Any ideas what other tool I can use or maybe in imperial socket sizing. Attached photo.

One more thing, I have a '96 1.3 March. Is the thermostat assembly the same as the 1.0? Just confirming because I read some where that they are common and will just fit on the engine block. Need your advice.. thanks
Hi, found leaking coolant from hoses coming from the thermostat housing ass'y. Took off the hoses and check them for holes however they are fine. However the pipes (2 pipes : goes to heater and goes to the back tube)from the housing assy does not look good due to corrosions. I thinks is heavily...
Went to the local hardware and had this garden fittings. Cut a section and forcefit through the inner portion of the tube and the valve cover. Then put some mouldable putty for stronger hold. Looks good at this point.
Hi, any suggestion how to go about this? The plastic tube from the valve cover snapped while i was putting back the airfilter case. Put some epoxy but its not that strong. What is the effect if ill just leave it as is?
Hi yorkiesteve, thanks for the info. For my case it's reving high when hot. Off the engine and re start again brings the rev to normal. But then again revs high as you travel further. Anyway, worth to try this weekend.

Hi yorkiesteve, as I read pollyp's post. My undertanding is totally remove the spring which means that the waxtat do not function anymore. Is that right?
