yes this was at my latest MOT ("besiktning" in swedish)
my previous 1.0 engine had over a HC of ~3000 and a CO of 0.
its the same carb, so im guessing i brougt the problem with me to the 1.2...
i will try to adjust my CO today...i got a CO meter at my work...
it does missfire a bit...
yesterday i checked my ignition with a strobe light and it was 20 BTDC
i was in a hurry and made a fast adjustment and got it up to 8 BTDC ...
and when i tried to get it closer to XTDC it died...
so i need to do?:
-raise the idle?
-and continiue adjusting the...
what is the optimum CO value?
for performance and MPG wise??
in sweden im alowed to have a CO of 3.5

i have a MA12 engine with MA10 inletmanifold+carb and a 4-2-1 exhaust manifold
in this picture i got 175/70/13 tires from an Opel Kadett D (Astra mk1 in uk) (unknown offset) ... and these dont rub
the diameter of these tires and the 195/50/15 are almoast the same (2mm larger)
but that low offset could make it difficult for the front tires when turning
will these fit my k10???
with 195/50/15 tires??
the (outer) wheelarchers have been completly cut out, due to my widebody archers...
i know the rim does line up perfectly with the widekit
but will it rub inside the arch???

i really like my ma12 engine, more torquey than my ma10, especially up hills i dont need to shift to 4th gear anymore.... just push the throttle a bit more on 5th =)....and if i floor it in 5th gear the speedometer moves!!!...hehe...
but there is one small problem
on lower than 1/8...

checked the clutch (it was in very good condition)

after an hour of swearing i got the engine in place(with help from a few friends)

last week i bought the 1.2 engine...with the ecc stuff??...but im going to use the inlet+carb+exhaust from the 1.0 to make the swap easier(the search tool is very good)...

it doesent matter if the exhaust manifold or system fit because im going to make me a new stainless one...
i know the alternator connector isnt the same ...but that is very easy to fix...=)
the MA10 is hard to find (i have found a few but the closest one is long drive away ... more than 400km)

how hard is it to transplant the MA12 engine?
do i need the gearbox from the MA12 too??

last week i blew my head gasket ... so i started to remove the head...
and 2 of the #### head bolts broke in half... so 2 of the half headbolts are still in the block.... i tried to weld a nut to the remaining part of the head bolt and loosen it, but it broke again and again...

i live 40 km north of GBG in Skepplanda
there are a lot of micras here in sweden...but most drivers are 60+ and doesent care about modding/tuning...
but now my micra is dead..=(...
blown head gasket...replacing it soon...
and maybe some mods while i have the engine ripped apart...=)
