you don't need to touch the sprocket when doing the chain, I made a big post on here about changing the timing chain. find it and have a read it may be of some use
all indicators on the car work except the passenger rear.
the light cluster works just fine just not the indicator, replaced the bulb so its not that.
any suggestions?
ok well that didn't go well, got a new pump and just put it in and I now have no power going to it.
is there a dedicated fuse for the washer pump?
the only one of relevance I can see is on the black fuse box in the bonnet

ok well after a day of faffing I finally found the problem.
washer pump is causing the wiper issue. unplug the pump and they go back to normal.

with regards to VVT sprocket, the easiest way to remove it is to take the chain off so there is no tension whatsoever on the vvt sprocket. then you can just undo the sprocket.

Bulls, no way is it the timing chain tensioner.
The timing chain tensioner is controlled by a small spring only and there's no way it would make that noise.
The timing chain tensioner is not controlled by oil pressure
