WTD : PS2 laser

Anyone got a broken PS2 I could have the laser from?
Chap at work has challenged me to fix it, if I do I get a 160GB HD

The problem, it was dropped, so now when he plays fast games like racing ones the game seems to lag, few of use agree it's damaged laser read, said it works with his kids games which I would say are slower as they're pretty young. Also the tray is having trouble and the laser sounds "funny".

i assume you've tried cleaning it?

regrease the lazer mount?

160 gb that's about £5 these days lol

have a search on google for ps2 laser calibrating, if its been droped the calibration will be off, worth a try as its free to do, plus you will need to calibrate a new laser anyway
