wiper arm and wiper sizes

bit confused at the moment , my facelift has a 19" and 16" ( measured ) wipers on it , but all the cats are telling me 20" and 18" ,but it looks a very close fit at the moment .
Do the described lengths of the wipers tend to be optimistic ?

Also one wiper arm is longer than the other , can any one double check which side should be the longer ...

thinking of upgrading to flat / aero vu wipers , do they look ok on a micra ?

thats opposite to my car which has the shorter wiper on the nearside ..also the wiper arms are pick n mix in length , which side does the longer arm go one ... ?

both my cars differ at the moment !!!

both our arms are 20" mike, but the driverside hinge is further away

just sussed mine out, and i have shorter arm and longer wiper on drivers side and longer arm and shorter wiper on passenger(near/side)
