Wheel Spacers ''not recommended for racing"?!?

hey guys:
im thinking about getting some wheel spacers and longer studs, but says on packaging 'not recommended for racing'. anybody got any knowledge? why are they not recommended? or is just THAT one i looked at was crap...

Type, quality etc, it's much a debatable point, I know of guys who have used all sorts of spacers in heavy autocross type use, and never had a failure, but then have also seen pics of failures.

And yeah in theory not legal for road use, it effect balance, depending, cause most are not hub centric so that causes issues, but you can argue if you got/get true quality hub centric spacers of any type, they are usually fool proof.

But generic ebay type spacers, well it's hit and miss, odds are you will feel some sort of balance issue, oh and part of the 'legal' issue is changing the offset/centerline, which will effect how a car steers etc, offset is supposed to be fixed cause the factory set a car to XX and altering that will make steering heavier etc and so on.

Also extends where the forces act on the studs of the hubs. Can cause excessive pressures followed by stud failures.
there is also less stud for the wheel nuts to 'hold' on to...
