Search tip

There's loads of useful information to be found through the forum but it's often difficult to find what you are looking for with the poorly implemented (no offense) search function.

So here's a little bit of a DIY guide on how to search with a lot more relevance and accuracy.

1. go to http://www.google.com
2. in the search bar type in "site:micra.org.uk" + whatever search terms you wish to search for (without the speech marks). e.g. site:micra.org.uk 1.3 cams in 1.0
3. press enter
4. result

:D

I completely agree, the search in the site is a bit, well, crap sometimes. It's always been my major gripe with vBulletin, but they seem to have made it worse with vB4 searching things other than posts, so you can try this page too to search only forum posts:
http://www.micra.org.uk/search.php?search_type=1

But yeah, site:micra.org.uk on Google is a very good search tool too as most of our threads are indexed in Google.

I may make Google site search an extra option in the search

This actually makes a huge difference. Always have to mess around with the old search feature and even then it didn't give the best results.

Thanks
