Are jap ECU's internally the same as UK/AUDM ECU's?

I ask because I saw these

Some might be the same as ours but for the most part they're different (including different loom connectors and tuning).

Heck our UK built k11's have a number of different ECU's used in them.

i once ran a jap ecu in my uk k11, made the engine run smoother and a little more power i thought. didnt need any modifications and i didnt have nats.
