Resetting ECU

How do I reset the ECU?

I think you have to disconnect the battery for 5-10 mins.

Tried that, but it hasnt reset the ecu

my airbag light is on atm and to get i off you have to go to dealers to take the fault off the ecu

could be. But i've just noticed something, I disconected the neutral. It's the live youre supposed to disconnect. I'll try it again now.

it doesnt matter what terminal you disconnect, normally taking off the earth ( - ) lead for around 10-15 mins will do it

Is it the same as a Skyline in that you can short two (has to be the right two!) pins in the consult port for 2 seconds? piece of cake if it's the same.

it probly will be ,,isnt that what they plug the computer into at the dealers?

firstly dont do it, you could damage the ecu as i dont think you can do that on the k12s, the one car i know you can do that on is the terranos but it has to have the obd II port on it,

best bet (safe method) is to take it to a nissan dealer so they can plug on consult II and erase the fault should take less than 2 minutes
