Replacement Batteries (Li)

The other day I checked my battery levels and they were a bit low so I topped them up with distilled water and then yesterday I go to start my car and the motor won't even turn over. Has anybody had this happen before/know why it would happen? or is it just serendipitous.

Went looking for a replacement battery...wanted a sealed one that doesn't need to be topped up with water as I tend to forget to do this. Does anybody know where I can get one that fits directly into the old batteries spot? How much should I be looking at?

Has anybody tried using Li batteries? Don't know about the fuel savings, but it should be a lot lighter and last a lot longer...but I would want it to at that price.

i,ve never had to topup a battery, are you sure the alt is,nt overcharging ?
i think theres an issue with low cycles with LI batteries on vehicle use, i would stick to wet lead acid

i wouldn't go with an odyssey if i was going with a new battery... there mainly used in cars with big stereo systems.. plenty of power, but you don't get much battery for your money, be ready for it to die the day after warranty expires. had 3 do this to me personally, and can think of atleast another 3 people that have had the same happen to them. "deka" i think they call themselves, get one of them. cheaper, for the same power, and longer life.. still a dry cell to.

Im for Deka as well, bought one a few months ago.. it's great. It is conservatively rated at 365 cca, tested it instore, was over 800 or so. If there are Battery World stores over there, go see em, they stock all the brands you have mentioned, and deka.

"Has any one tried the pulse (<A title=http://www.mmsport.com.au/productview.php?pid=1182&amp;ppid=Odyssey_Pulse_Batteries href="http://www.mmsport.com.au/productview.php?pid=1182&amp;ppid=Odyssey_Pulse_Batteries" target=_blank>http://www.mmsport.com.au/productview.php?pid=1182&amp;ppid=Odyssey_Pulse_Batteries</A>) batteries?<BR><BR>I ran a little test with my battery.<BR><BR>When it wouldn't start it was 10.1V.<BR><BR>Once I got it started(jumpered) and the car was running it was 14.31V<BR>(Does that mean my alternator is fine?)<BR><BR>After turning off my engine the charge quickly fell to 12.8V.<BR>

yeh your alternator is charging... that is right for the battery to drop down to around 12 volts. it looks like a battery problem in my professional opinion. i would be changing that and checking to see if there is anything causing a drain on the battery.

are you guys sticking the dry cell batteries under your seats? or in the boot?

makes sense to move the thing to fit piping/air filters etc but i'm not too keen on sticking it int the boot and having stuff hit it when i load up the car
