Removing K11 Radio/Cassette

Hi guys,

How do I go about removing the radio/cassette from a K11 shape (1996)???

A Haynes manual is your friend

But, remove the bottom cubby hole plastic (2 screws at side), remove the two screws at the bottom of the centre console. Remove ash tray and unscrew 2 screws behind this. Remove two screws up above the existing radio.

Then pull carefully from the bottom, and the centre console should come away from the metal mounts, carefully pull at the top to unclip the console completely.

Disconnect the cig lighter wire and remove the whole console.

Then just unscrew the radio from the brackets (4 screws).

Jus pulled it out so I could put it in my k10 cos my radio got nicked & am planning to get a new one 4 my k11 anyway.

When I pulled out my radio/cassette on my K11, the wire for the ciggie lighter touched a bit of metal and sparked.
I thought nothing of it & put the dash back on but now the ciggie lighter dont work.

Ive checked the fuses & ive made sure that it is connected properly - wot cud it be.

I think i'm cursed.

The fuse is ok? That's a bit of a weird one.

Can you get a multimeter on it and see if it reads an voltage?

Is the fuse not meant to be ok?

I'll go check it again when I get back from uni but im pretty sure there wasnt a break in the fuse.
