the works kit didn't get release when they replaced the mini.
But they've been fitted to the new mini since 2004! Further details found on the John cooper Works website

The "Mk I" MINI One, Cooper and Cooper S use a Brazillian built Tritec engine while the MINI One D uses a Toyota built diesel engine
The "Mk II" MINI that was launched earlier this year is powered by a new 1.6 litre engine co-developed by BMW and PSA group. The engine is named Prince. The Cooper S mini uses a 1.6 turbo that is share with the Peugeot 207 rather than the previous 1.6 supercharged engine.
