Misfire

I have just replaced the engine on my micra 1.0 02 The management light is on permanently but will flash intermittently while driving it does not sound as if it is misfiring but I can't find any thing else wrong. Any suggestions very welcome it's driving me nuts

Don't forget you can read them manually (so to speak) by counting flashes of the management light after shorting the IGN and CHECK terminal of the diagnostic connector (that's the two leftmost) for two seconds - so it says in the Haynes manual 2 and 3 on the . Not exactly trivial but not that difficult and it worked for me.
