My car is making a squealing noise when the car has warmed up. most noticable when the rpms has settled around 750-800. also makes the same noise when I turn the igntion off. changed the belts 3months ago and still no change. the sound seems to be comming from the water pump or power steering pully. Any ideas anyone?

It could be one of the idler pulley bearings - they're the known weakspots in the CG's belt system.

Once youve removed the belt you should be able to manually feel the pulleys and see if the bearings are binding.

Try spraying a WD40 or equivilant on the belt pulley grooves while the engine is running.

DON'T LET ANY LOOSE JEWELLERY OR CLOTHING GET TOO CLOSE TO THE MOVING PARTS.

If the noise goes away you probably need new belts or they need adjusting.

Ill be taking the belts off this sunday, I have a feeling its a bearing on the way out. Im hoping that I will be able to manual move each pulley and feel for any tension. I have isolated the noise to the water pump, power steering pump, or idler.
