howcome my micra insurance expensive than a MG ZR 105 (insurance group 9) ?

Hi all.. i was trying to get my micra insured, but the lowest prize i can find is 650 pounds! i'm with 8 yrs NCD, 8yrs full UK DL. Same address. the MG ZR 105 which is insurance group 9, cost me 640 pounds with DirectLine, but DirectLine charge me 1440 pounds for Micra! i don't believe, anybody can tell me why??

Micra: 1998, 3dr 998cc.

When were these prices? Insurance is climbing at the moment so if the policy on the MG was taken out some time ago you might find that they would charge you a lot more if you were trying to insure it today.

They also have goes at specialising in certain types of car which they will give cheap prices on to attract business in the hopes that people who get those policies will simply renew at a less competitive price the following year.

You say you have 8 years NCD - is that on a second car? If you only have one lot of NCD then you are insuring the Micra with no NCD which might also explain why it's so expensive. It sounds wrong but if you have an accident it affects every policy you take out - if you gain a bonus for NOT having an accident it only counts on one policy.

hi, thanks for reply, i never had accident , also MG has been sold, so i have only Micra atm. I've found the problem, it's becoz of my address, i have changed to my friend's address, the prize goes down to 400 from Tesco,(700+ with my address). I don't know why my area credits goes so bad this year. didn't heard anything happened here

Hah, mine was 1600 and i'm 18 :p but now insurance is off the scale, now if my folks wanted to insure me micra, they have only been paying 12 pound a month :/ is that insane?? thats like 144 for a whole year, and to think i want a 1.3! :')

Well ima get the 1.3 anyway even if i cant drive it haha.

when i started driving 21 (late starter) no ncb etc. paid £1007 this year (age 22) paid £600 1 year ncb. what are you guys buying into?!
K11 1.3 super s

i started driving at 20 £1300 for a 1l and now 2yrs on i'm paying £1300 for a 1.3l?!?! though cheapest quote i've had is £700 but i cba to chop and change insurance

It's a Japanese Car. Spares are expensive (Owners know otherwise)

....although if you buy a £40,000 Furrari it'll cost you £4000

interesting you should say this, i done the opposite.

sold my 1.0 micra for a ZR 105, i also had an insurance drop if almost 400 quid.
