Engine Mounts

Hi all,

I did a search but didnt find anything about it so I thought I'd post it up and share some info about some stuff you should consider using before you go out and buy harsh/annoying solid aluminium or urethrane mounts or spending your life savings on some Nismo solid rubber mounts.

The stuff is called Flexane. Made by Devcon. http://www.itw-devcon.co.uk/

I believe it is available through these fellows: http://www.coventrys.com.au/coventry/cgl/contact/

Basically it is 96% solid, in easy to understand words, its means there is 4% freeplay (or compression availability) in the material once it is set. It is also extremily strong and durable meaning that it is an excellent choice for engine mounts.

I'm not claiming to have any experience with stuff, I'm just going by what I'm told and have experienced myself. This stuff gives you probably the BEST mix of stiffness (for lack of drivetrain movement) and vibration dampening (so your car doesnt shake itself to pieces) your engine mounts can have.

And its cheap. $100 for a tube of the stuff and a weekend can have all your good mounts injected with this stuff and better handling without the negative side effects you all worry about.

I figure its worth a shot.

Cheers
