Engine fan question

Hi peeps,
I noticed tonight that when I cold start the car, the engine fan doesn't turn at all, is it normal?
From wich temperature the fan usually starts?

i know i own a k10 but mine doesnt really start moving until i get to optimal temp. when waiting at traffic lights youll hear it turn on or when parked up somewhere but i think the engine would need to warm up a bit before the fan starts? maybe wrong though

Yeh usuallly the fan wont start until the engine starts getting too warm, like sed5000 says when you are in traffic or when you park after driving for a while! Leave your car running for 10-15 mins and it should have kicked in by then.

tonight I drove on highway about 2hours, after the car was parked at home, I opened the bonnet and checked the engine fan, It was not running at all, though the engine/engine bay was very hot, is it normal, any tips to check the engine or the sensor of the fan?

Pretty worried :s
