Door Lock

2005 Micra.
Sometimes the driver's door will not open from the inside. Pressing the switch near the gearstick usually but not always unlocks the door. I can't get my head round the owners manual and this is driving me crackers!
I'd be glad of any suggestion.

Was gonna say child locks, but not on the drivers door.
If it was from the outside I'd say anti hijack mode?...but from the inside?
...Sticky lock mechanism? Damaged release?

If you wanna try...hold both the lock and unlock buttons on your key fob, at the same time for a few seconds. That will switch it ftom convenience to anti hijack mode...or vice versa
Worth a shot?

Thanks for the reply.
I did the holding down the buttons on the key fob the other day, did not hear any clicking. Then I locked and unlocked it with the door open.
It "seems" to be okay now.
If it happens again I will blast with WD40.
I yearn for the old days of just a key ....
