I was on the way to work at about 5.30 this morning, running late as usual on a sunday so was probably doing about a ton, when a bog standard looking Matiz came wailing past me at what I would estimate at around 130 mph, I tried to catch it but gave up at 115 and he was still putting distance between us fairly quickly, surely thats not normal for one of those is it ?

It has been known to be quite a fast car when modified, no weight in them.

130 mph definately not standard for a 800cc engine, that car is a proper SLEEPER
