Found that the guy who runs the carbibles website has updated the site with some information regarding CVT transmissions.
As you all know the k11 micras used a belt system. He also shows some pics of what Nissan and many other manufacturers now use (what is now essentially an unbreakable automatic gearbox with infinitely variable gear ratios... sweeet).

Gives a false idea about how simple they are though. There's alot of electronic/mechanical components which cause the problems (as with the micra cvt).
