Central locking and door pillar switch issue k12

Hi All, my 2004 K12 has keyless ignition. Recently, the driver’s door won’t lock unless I open and close one of the other doors! Does this mean the door switch plays sone integral part in the logic processing of the central locking and is faulty? Occasionally, the ignition barrel won’t turn round to start, and I get a red key symbol on the dash. Is the locking module on the way out?
