Black ST restoration blog

I'll tell you what I have in mind, just waiting for a quote for a pair of BC front V1 adjustable coil overs and a pair of rear Toyota Starlet adjustable.

Should be direct fit, what do you think? Heard good things about BC, any opinions?

It's about what you expect to pay for that level, if you want very low, very stiff for the ebay goodies.

I think these will be worth it for the cash, plus as always I don't pay retail. ;)

Yeah steel construction with Aluminium solid top mount and adjustable camber, not exactly a lot lighter but not the most expensive either and weight will lost in other areas.

Bought a pair of pulsar GTI front callipers from Willpalmer, £70 seemed quite fair considering I was going to renew anyway.

Got them out the box and it is was all a bit eurgh! Sliders were a little seized due to use of copper grease and pistons looked a little rough not to mention body of the callipers.

Popped pistons out,

1200 wet n dry for just a few mins and they're looking a lot better.

Carriers and callipers have been completely stripped down now and cleaned by hand wire brush, turns out not half as bad as first appeared although think people need to realise that copper grease is incorrect for sliders and will just seize them up once it has broken down.

Hope to be painted by the weekend. :)

Car less at the moment, mx5 is awaiting a pair of cams of the ported skimmed head that I have just finished.

Once she is back on the road... I can get some more bits done.
