    Front roll bar drop links

    Has anyone fitted non genuine nissan anti roll bar drop links ? One of mine had snapped so I bought a replacement (long bolt, 4 rubber bushes, 4 big washers, a steel spacer/bush and a nut). But it seems to be too long, does anyone know how its supposed to be fitted ? Thanks Chris

    CV joint question

    Hi Frank, I've pushed, pulled & twisted the shaft and can't pull it out of the joint. Obviously its on for a reason otherwise it wouldn't be there (maybe a full lock burnt out would dis lodge it ! ) Chris

    Are we talking inner or outer cv joint here ? The outer one has a solid ring on the end of the splines and then a groove about half way along for the spring clip, when I did mine the spring clip snapped so put it back on without it, been ok for over a year now

    Fixed. Removed the front cover off the wiper gear and cleaned the 3 contacts up, working fine now.

    did you 1st start it then turn it straight off, as in 5 or 10 seconds ? Is so crank it over as much as you can and it should start

    The front wipers on my 98 twister ocassionaly stick in the vertical position. If I pull them slighty (towards the drivers side) off they go, is the some contacts in the wiper motor that need cleaning up, or something else ? Thanks Chris

    Hi, I paid £5 for one, not sure the guy new what it was or if it should have been anymore than that anyway. Also, it was easy to do one bolt holds the unit in from above and then i carefully prised it up with a large screw driver from side to side. P.S put a rag around it or on the floor...

    gearbox linkage help

    Does anyone know if you can get new bushes for the linkage to selector rod joint (the swivel joint). The ones in my car are quite worn, slackened off the bolt a bit, helped for a while but now its a bit too loose.

    All fixed, replacement speedo drive unit £5 from scrappy, fitted this which also cured the erratic fuel gauge !

    Speedo fault identified ! Seperated the speedo drive unit and found the shaft between pinion and magnet had snapped, and all the plastic had melted. Trip to scrap yard required :grinning:

    The speedo on my wifes micra (1 ltr, '98) stopped working last night. I expected to find a loose connection but everything seems fine. Also noticed that whilst driving the fuel gauge is moving from the level in the tank down to empty and then back and back down... Temp gauge is reading...
