This is the most f**ked up job to do. I tried kerosene to loosen the tape, did nothing. Had to use a flat head screw driver and pry all along the tape's edges and then go along sideways and slowly push it off. I'm thinking about just leaving the friggon rubber off. If it's going to be this much...

No worries. It's driving fine, just trying to get used to the new friction point and getting gear changes smoother.

For anyone interested, I went to the mechanics behind Peak in Glen Forrest and got the clutch replaced for $535 ($385 labour, $125 clutch assembly, $10 crankshaft rear main seal (apparently was leaking oil), $15 seal oil).

I was driving into town tonight and I put my foot on the clutch to change gears, went into third and let the clutch out and it sounded like I still had the clutch in or it was in neutral.
