    Fuse box question + more

No worries. Also, if you have a multimeter handy - stick one of the probes into the screw terminal of the red main power cable and check for continuity of the connections at the fusebox end - not totally necessary but avoids headache later on trying to look for that dud connection...

    Fuse box question + more

Yep that looks perfect to me (Y) BTW, instead of crimping the ends of the cables, why not solder them directly onto the fusebox terminals instead ? Its certainly a lot cheaper, easier, and quicker too. Just leave the crimping if you prefer for the output side. Tip: use the spare 2...

    Fuse box question + more

OK, so a fuse box simply splits your main power supply into individually 'fused' outputs, ie, same voltage but with different current limitations, say 3A, 5A, 10A...etc. There should be an 'input'. That is the positive line voltage. The ground isn't fused, so needs no connection. The positive...

    circuit tester

Good stuff, ideal for current measurements...but your one is only good for AC current...so little use in-car  These clamp meters are getting surprisingly cheaper though :wow:

    K11 audio system

 Does anyone know the code/part number for the connector block nissan have used for the rear speakers ? Don't really want to cut this off, would rather get the other 'male' connector and join them up together this way. TIA.

I think we all got one of those....somewhere lol http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=37279&&source=14&doy=3m9 2 for the price of 1 :D

So is your head unit totally dead or what ??? If its passing the switching signal to the amp, sounds like the fault may be elsewhere.

    is it headunit or wire

Some fuses don't always blow. There could be another feed or fuse somewhere feeding the power to your head unit, when you get the multimeter, you can be sure of where the fault lies. You clearly set the problems off when you installed the amplifier.

These voltages will as mentioned above, be in the region of 12 to 14 volts, typically around 13.8 volts. However, the fact that you obtain this presence of power at around this stated level means that the particular part of the circuit you're checking is indeed 'live'. You shouldn't...

    is it headunit or wire

Sounds like you've mixed up a few connections somewhere and connected things where they shouldn't be connected. Fuses will not blow without good reason, and never ever replace a fuse with a higher rated one in the hope it will stop it from blowing; it won't take the fault away and...

You could have picked it up for less, and not had to wait for the postie by going to Maplins... http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=44679&criteria=multimeter&doy=2m9

When you hear distortion, it means that you've set the gain too high (or conversely the input) or the output level is too high for your speakers. Try turning the volume on your MP3 device to just below its maximum then set the gain on the amplifier accordingly - however are you going to be...

I think you're confusing volume levels with the high and low pass filters here. The filters only serve to pass the different frequencies of the sound, ie, LP(low pass) and HP (high pass) will not the affect the actual sound level. If what you mean is that the volume of the music you're...

Also try different discs, sometimes the silver ones (burn side) perform better than blue ones. Or just stick to 'audio graded' discs (if you can find them), and as suggested above use a very low burn speed, even down to say 2x.

    Door Mirror

Some chavvy #### has had my nsf door mirror internal on christmas day...what they got away with is the mirror glass and the 'plate' it fits into, left behind is the mechanism which seems intact (manual/internal adjustment), and left the mirror cover dangling (I can push this back into the slots...

Ha ha, thats so funny. NOT. Fault wasn't present before the engine clean. And how do you explain the noise? BTW, the 'pulsing' action is continuous at full/high revs. At what sensors and where should I be looking/cleaning? How many sensors is there? Sorry 'cos I do not have a...

    2002 K11 1.0 Bosch Coil Pack

Hi, I've encountered a problem with my Micra, which is only apparent at high revs (only experienced when revving at standstill - not driving). What happened was: I did an oil flush then changed the oil and filter. Drove it after this for around 6-8 miles. Ran beutifully as I had already...
