Done a search but can't find instructions on how to set the throttle position sensor. For anybody that has the classic cutting out symptom's check the relay near the battery (marked engine con) for corroded/bad contacts where it plugs in.

Here is a picture of the type of key:- Found one on ebay will need to take transponder out of old key and get the new key cut.

Thanks for the link frank, guess she might have to get in touch with Nissan, the car is non central locking and the key is black with Nat's on it and a red square bit of plastic at the front.

Hello again The missus only has one key for her micra, anyone know where to get a spare key with transponder and how to program it? Don't fancy going to nissan. £££££££

My missus has a 1998 1.0L micra which now and then cuts out while driving, no spluttering or misfiring but just cuts out, but restarts at the turn of the key. I have had the top off the ecu, to check for fault codes, i found the led which stays lit with ignition on or the engine running, but no...

Started it up today started first turn of the key and runs ok, but they is a slight intermittent scraping type noise from the cam chain area, but no where has near has bad has it was. Maybe it will settle down after its had time to bed in.

Yes the seal i bought was red. yours must have had timing chain replacement sometime.

Yes i cranked it over with the dizzy disconnected and the oil light went out. The old timing chain had no marks so i made a note of the links between, the indents on the sprockets.

well its all back together, just need oil and filter. Whats the best oil to get 10/40 semi syn?

Not frostbitten but on the verge of hyperthermia. :O) Another question, Does part of the crank pully fit in the front oil seal?

Managed to get the new chains installed along with all the other bits. Turned the engine over a good few times no contact. The tensioners are moving in and out, i guess that's because they is no oil pressure. Do i need to prime the oil pump? When i changed an oil pump on a ford probe i packed...

Its freezing but, also raining allday. maybe tomoro.

Its all stripped and ready, just the weather letting me down now.
