Added a couple of bits over the last couple of days...knew my GCSE in Electronics would come in handy at some point... I'm running a sub and two amps in the boot so thought a voltage gauge would be useful, whilst this beautifully spec'd creature did not come equipped with a rev counter. The...

    Suzuki alto springs in K11

Anyone know how many coils it's safe to cut off the Suzuki springs before the shocks start bottoming out? I've lopped a coil off front and rear (standard front shocks, Corsa rears) but I've still got a fair bit of arch gap on 13s...

Thought this was worthy of an update...not done a lot other than drive her over the colder months. Did however 'upgrade' my gearstick gaiter and knob £4 Chinese eBay win! More importantly, invested in some new wheels - finally got rid of the garish 15" chromed effect 5 spokes for these rather...

Embarrassing fail...pulled driveshaft out on N/S

...any tips on pulling the speedo drive? I can get half a turn on it pretty easy left to right, but pulling up on it makes no difference. I've even threaded a cable tie through the bolt hole and given it a good yank but no dice. been going at it for about 90 minutes now! The square drain...

K11 lowering. Alto springs method. GUIDE

You're quite right - Corsa B shocks (apologies - I drive a Corsa C as a boring day-to-day car, hence the confusion). You'll either need a narrower lower bolt or a wider bushing though.

K11 lowering. Alto springs method. GUIDE

Yup - 4 rear Alto springs. They will fit onto the front shocks with no issues. For the rears you will need a pair of rear shock absorbers from a Corsa B, as the Nissan ones are too long. These may require a little fettling - the crush tube in the lower bush on mine was too narrow - so I was...

K11 lowering. Alto springs method. GUIDE

That's her...she's off the road atm for a few jobs, coming back lower and on smaller wheels ;-) I found the stiffness to be a huge improvement, but mine is a standard car (not Super S). It was too high and really rolled/wallowed in corners. It has to be early Alto springs - 1994 to 2002. I...

K11 lowering. Alto springs method. GUIDE

Corsa B shocks on the rear, Alto springs all around is what I'm running. Still sits a little higher than I want on little 13" rims so I'm lopping a coil off the front and 2 off the back...may need to fit an adjustable panhard rod now...

Embarrassing fail...pulled driveshaft out on N/S

Was wrestling a strut back into place, only to look down and find gearbox oil gushing all over the floor :-( So... 1) How do I get it back in? It's not hanging loose - do I just whack the hub nut end with a mallet a few times? I'd rather not take off CV joints etc. etc. 2) How much oil will...

Today's job... Not bad for £15...although someone has seen fit to colour bits of the new wheel in with a biro...?

Cheers! Doing the bumpstrips was a much bigger job than I had anticipated - peeling them off was easy but dealing with the glue took a good 2-3 hours each side. There were times when I regretted it...especially seeing some of the paint underneath. Glad I did it though...

Fitting seats from another make of car

From what I've gleaned most seats will need a bit of work to fit - or the car itself will need work to make them fit. Not aware of any straight swaps. Am I right in thinking Almera seats go in with only a bit of fabrication...?
