    Quick bulb question:

What are you after? Better bulbs, or bulbs which look blue and reduce the visibility? If you want better bulbs then get some from www.powerbulbs.co.uk - with an order you will get the blue side light bulbs free. I would recommend the osram silverstars for an excellent, brighter bulb...

    Coolant flush?

Personally I would say three months is nothing. I would drain it into a bucket and check for any problems. Flush with a hose through the top and then backwards flush through the radiator drain plug. Do as sonic say and use a flushing chemical as well if really concerned.

    Coolant flush?

How long has it stood idle and what was in the system before hand? Was there still antifreeze still at the recommended levels? Personally I would drain the system and use a hose to flush the system then fill with antifreeze and water at recommended concentrations.

    Lower Ball Joint Install

To stop it spinning you have to make sure you have the right nut. The threads are not a normal 1.5 thread but 1.25 - usually. They need to spin on and its the split pin or a nyloc nut that stops it coming undone, not the "bite" of the thread like most bolts and nuts. Check the thread is...

    Are all Micras this cold?

Well I had a good poke around today and found, as suspected above the polen filter was filthy!! Why though, did Nissan put it in a place that is impossible to get too!!? I took all four of the gold cross head bolts but it wouldn't budge. So ended up cutting the filter with snips and...

    Are all Micras this cold?

There are no problems with the coolant since I cleaned and flushed the system in august when I gave it a full service. Coolant level hasn't dropped since and is still lovely and fresh looking. Any other ideas? Cheers.

    Replacing outer CV boots

I found I couldn't get a ball joint splitter in there, so ended up using a screw driver and hammer to get it separated. Worked a treat. One think I would recommend though is, the guide on here says the hub nut is such and such a size. I went out and bought that size of socket only to find...

    Are all Micras this cold?

Hi, for annoying reasons (big lump of metal in road, car hitting metal, sump disappearing, oil gushing, car now in menders!), I have had to borrow my girlfriends Micra to get to work. Its a 1999 1.0l Its a great car but what annoyed me was how cold it was!! The heating was blowing on full with...

Anyone know bolt size? - tie rod end

    strange noise??

Definately the bearing. I just fixed this exact problem on my girlfriends micra yesterday! not a hard job, just a load of tight nuts and the need for a ball joint splitter. I bought a new hub carrier assemble from a scrappy for £35. took about three hours work.

    Exhaust rattle underneath!

I know sonic you are a knowledgeable member on these forums, but surely that advise isn't very good!? Heat sheilds are there for a reason, especially around CAT's which get super hot! My manual on my car (not a micra though), states I should't park on long dry grass for fear of setting it...

    Brake peddle question...

Check fluid level, check for leaks of fluid behind each wheel. Flexible brake hoses could be wearing down, causing swelling when braking. Check the hoses on each wheel and replace if very old or worn.

    Front wheel bearing?

Ok cheers, I will have another go. I did spin the wheel when it was off the ground, but couldn't hear anything out of the ordinary. It is only when driving that you hear it as a low constant growl - a bit like your driving without any carpets in the car or somthing so no sound is dampened...

    Another idle issue...

You could by a multimeter which has a tach feature, which you could use. Or I used to use a tach/dwell meter which is a special tool to measure the revs. I have to say though I use it on my old 1971 VW beetle with points and a dizzy, dont really know how it would work for a modern car.

    Front wheel bearing?

Hi, My girlfriends 1.0l 1999 micra has got a growl from the front passenger wheel that is constant when driving. Its been like that for about a year and so I must fix it! Firstly, what is it!? I thought it might be a CV joint, but I changed this and it still wouldn't go away. Is it the...

    Burning Oil?

Blue smoke usually means he is burning oil. White smoke is normal combustion water vapour that is naturally produced when you burn fossil fuels - ie petrol. Unless this smoke is hanging around a lot, i.e. it doesn't just come of the the exhaust and then invisibly disappear into the air pretty...

    Clicking on full lock.

I would add this to the end of sonics CV joint guide, but I only paid for trial membership because I am cheap! :glance: so thjought I would add it here in case anyone searches. I changed the cv joint at the weekend. The job was very easy following the guide and it now doesn't make any...
