Ok then. But is it ok to have MOT and TAX but NO insurance as long as I don't drive the car? Or can I expect a letter suddenly even if I have not driven the car saying I am fined because I have no insurance?

On another note, the insurance expires in 5 days. If it doesn't sell by then, should I get a SORN, or should I tax it but not get insurance? (won't drive car obviously)

Right, thanks for the honesty there. It's just elsewhere (autotrader mainly) there are ones in worse condition going for even more. I guess here everyone knows what they are talking about and looking for, so prices are cheaper.

A garage a friend knows said they'd do the work for a very good price. Gonna get that done and then sell the car normally.

2000 model Micra, the car failed miserably today! Loads of corrosion is the main culprit and I have been quoted between 400-500 to get all the repairs done. Scrap value is £35... We are leaving the country in a few months so need to shift the car soon. Still got 2 weeks of old MOT and current...

I got the solar charger, but my cigarette lighter only works with the ignition on! And I don't really want to leave the charger out in the open for 2 weeks... I can just remove the battery and leave it indoors with the solar charger right?
