should i change headgasket? // problems in the future if i do not

ECU uses the information from crank angle/ref. mark sensor (inside distributor), ECT sensor and boost pressure sensor to compute the adequate ignition timing. Without signal from the first one, the engine won't start, and if the signals from the other two sensors are missing or faulty, the...

    inlet idea

That would be the best one (Y). I've seen that solution on earlier racing V8 engines. One upgrade though: the end of the pipe that connects to the central part (box) should be somewhat conical to improve the flow and prevent swirling.

    inlet idea

I've altered the original sketch (hope you don't mind me doing so). The main thing is that the sharp angles are "forbidden" in making a custom inlet, also avoid using box shaped profiles. The straight parts need to be longer in order to have an equal distribution of mixture, and the separation...

    On the Vinegar

Yes, it is the carb. The effects are even more noticeable with dual barrel carburettors that have a curved lever arm for opening the second throttle instead of using the underpressure.

    car broken

Pull the fuel hose off the carburettor and check the fuel flow while cranking. It might be a clogged fuel filter.

    can this be fixed?

Here is the sketch: The table shows which wires are connected when you operate the ignition switch. There should be one 2.5sqmm wire (thicker than others) and it's the battery +. That one should be connected to the lower row closer to the steering wheel (upper row, left column on the sketch)...

    can this be fixed?

Yes, the colours are different and I can't find the right wiring diagram in the Haynes manual. There is a procedure to find out how to connect the wires, but the easier way is to replace the plug.

    can this be fixed?

You should use separate crimp connectors like these: I'll take a look at wiring latter and post which wire goes where.

    Head Gasket Help!

It takes around 3 hours to finish the job. You need a torque wrench and something straight to check the head for deformations.

    gearbox woes

Is everything alined properly? The whirr in neutral might mean that there's something wrong with release bearing. On the second thought, it's probably the bearings. I've replaced them, it's not so difficult task. No need for collars, but you need to dismantle the selection rods (I don't know if...

    ma10e-t

The thing with valves is that the valve clearance increases as the engine warms up, and the larger clearance means that the valves open later and the lift is smaller. Practicly you could set the clearance on cold engine to .0mm, and there would be no colision between the valve and the piston...

Factory settings are: ___________hot___cold inlet_______.25___.22 exhaust____.30___.22 Cold - .15mm for both inlet and exhaust is ok too, since the flow is very constricted even on the turbo version. You'll get a better response to power demands and a slightly increased fuel consumption.

    Lambda sesnors

I'll try to help. You don't need to install newer (faster) L-sensor simply because already the carburettor can't keep up with the request for AFR change from ECU. Also, there is no power improvement from this modification. I've measured the voltage and here is what I've got: 1) supply...

    Carb. modification k10

This is not quite true. During acceleration the primary throttle plate opens completely as the pedal is being pressed. This produces low pressure in the intake manifold and opens the secondary throttle plate. I'll try to explain this. When the engine accelerates the air suction increases...
