    yet more tropical Micra problems

Another question - I've been looking on ebay and seen some brand new driveshafts for sale but these are marked as being for 1993 onwards Micras. Would these fit mine?

    yet more tropical Micra problems

Hi, Thanks for all that. Interesting about the tickover. The normal tickover is very fast and drops when the lights are turned on. Maybe a fault with the solenoid? Like you said, though, unlikely to be the main cause of the high fuel consumption. I calculated the fuel consumption by...

    yet more tropical Micra problems

I'll be in London, Hereford, Gloucester, Bristol, Leamington and places in between. Do you think I can just disconnect the gubbins under the seat? The tickover's very high anyway.....

    yet more tropical Micra problems

Hello all (again), A whole list of questions for you! I'm living in Kampala, Uganda and have a 1990/91 Nissan March/Micra 1L 4 speed. It has the carb with auto choke and the box of electronic tricks under the passenger seat. It also has power steering and aircon (which I never use). The...

    tropical Micra problems

I'm the Kampala resident with the dodgy Micra...... It's absolutely guzzling fuel (34mpg if driven like a granny) and has a sky high tickover. I've checked all the usual stuff (plugs, air filter etc) and have even removed the autochoke (not really needed over here, anyway) all to no avail...

Um, where would I find that particular solenoid valve?!

No, I left that on but it sits in the open position.

Mine did have the autochoke but I removed it from the carb as it's not really needed over here and I wanted to check it wasn't playing up. As it happens, I've been trying to drop the tickover as it's way too high. I wound out the adjuster so far that it fell out but have failed to find the...

Yeah, 50 mpg is about what I expected, even allowing for the slightly iffy petrol we get over here and the altitude (nothing dramatic - about 2500ft above sea level). I've checked the tyres, brakes etc and they're all fine. Do you think I need to check the mixture or should all the gubbins...

I got 34mpg on a long run out of town, cruising at about 50mph. Surely I should be getting more out of a 1L Micra? My old 1100 Uno did 50mpg and even an ancient Fiesta managed 45.....

Hello all, My 91 March is giving me grief again - I'm only getting 34mpg. I've completely removed the autochoke (not neede out here), cleaned the air filter, checked the plugs etc but still can't seem to find a problem. Anyone got any suggestions? Thanks, Rich
