    It's me again, bad misfire

Well, one of my mates turned up with a transporter and took the car away from me so I didn't set it on fire  He knows what I'm like and that I simply wouldn't give up on it until I'd sorted it . I've a knackered back which makes it difficult to play for any period of time hence why it...

    It's me again, bad misfire

If I pull off one of the smallpipes from the ECCS / or fast idle valve should I be able to get a vacuum reading on idle plus at slightly raised revs?

    It's me again, bad misfire

Baz, they are Blueprint leads as well . I'm back to genuine Nissan cap and rotor which weren't a problem before, I replaced them as they were nearly 20 years old . Plugs were BPR6ES ,fitted a new set the same and then the equivalent Denso . I'd changed all this before and,. coincidentally ...

    It's me again, bad misfire

Original rotor and cap refitted this morning, no change :( I've also had the coil and ignition module back off and checked resistances that are within spec and diode is still functioning in module. All check out OK but substitution is the only real way to be sure I suppose. Re the Lamda...

    It's me again, bad misfire

Pukka Fig stuff but not genuine Nissan f, bought from a specialistFig parts supplier. He supplied NGK ( original spec) but I've swapped to Denso while trying to sort. I've also currently put the original cap and leads back ,they weren't playing up I'd replaced them as preventative ( ?!)...

Waterlooville , just outside Portsmouth. Going to run some checks on the NEW coil today, wouldn't be the first time I've discounted something because it is new :(

    It's me again, bad misfire

Rad etc all look good, no gunk , or any signs of head problem like pressurising hoses etc. I could get the coolant dye tested to be sure but only if Ican get it to run to get it there

    It's me again, bad misfire

Figaro is still playing up and my head is exploding ! A brief recap. A replacement of the plugs leads ,cap and rotor, saw it not starting . Slowly but surely traced to a failed coil ,this was replaced along with the ignition module. Took it for a run, all fine for 50 miles and then it started...

    Cam angle sensor

I've also got misfire that's causing a code 11 coming up on fault codes , besides checking connections clean ( can I use wd40 with no problems? ) is there anyway of cleaning any contacts / reset air gaps or similar in the 'dizzy' ?

    Cat overheat light?

Hiya, me again with a Figaro problem. Does the March have a Cat overheat warning light same as the Figaro , I'm told they have a fusible link that blows if the cat gets raw fuel or the car misffires ( mines done both ) and it causes it to burn out and it's a riduculously priced main dealer part...

    Engine not starting

I've had the coil off the car so I rigged it all up on the floor to make it spark . I checked continuity between positive and negative posts . Then a resistance check , 1 across the lt terminals and 10.4 on the ht. Connected a spark plug to the coil and used a jump lead to connect that to...

    Engine not starting

Well the module turned up, fitted..STILL not starting . Grrrrr.. I've just done 1.5 hours ,backs killing me and my brain REALLY hurts. I'm getting old and looks like it's stopped figuring out what the hell is going on I'm definitely getting switched ECU signal (red/white wire ) but it's...

    Engine not starting

After speaking with Gareth from G J Northall , a Figaro specialist he told me how to check the Ignition module. There is a diode between terminal 2 and 3 which should allow current to flow in only one direction. Mine is flowing both ways so I've ordered a replacement which wil hopefully fix...

    Engine not starting

Yup, knew that but struggling to work out the wiring without a diagram. It looks like earth switched by the CAS with the lead to the coil body being attached to that ? What threw me was that the car was working perfectly until I fitted the new cap ,leads and rotor . My thinking now...
