    Jimbo's magnificent K11

Oh, I'm actually bringing this to JAE, I'll be on the Type-R owners stand. You guys were right near us last year, a pretty good turn out too! I'll pop over for the banter. It will be good to meet some of you, see some proper micras and give me some motivation to make this one work properly!

Yep, the paint was rolled. The shark mouth is Halfords rattle cans and the Grease Weasel and chick is enamel modelling paint. I've got a few more things up my sleeve, the bonnet is going to be layered and sanded back for a rat patina kind of look. There's going to be a few other stenciled...

Making some progress on the paint. I need to paint the eye, but still, LOL.

Another productive day today. One coil off the rear springs. A good example of why TTs cost more than Micras! SO. MUCH. BETTER.

    Micra K11 1.0L Engine Mods

With such a small engine all the basics will make a significant difference. Mine feels so much pokier after a really good service; engine flush, all new fluids, new plugs and a new filter. The lighter wheels have made a big difference too! I'm a big fan of making the most of what you have...

K11 - Fitting After Market Steering Wheel

The trick to making horns work is a sprung connection, it's really easy. Find the horn wire, attach a piece of metal to the column so that it will push against the metal on the boss, connect the wire. Simple as that! This is my old civic:

    another newbie hear :)

Hi mate! My micra was bought to get my mate through his test, though he only made it to 29 without learning. They're fantastic as first cars, and a right giggle to throw around too!

Thanks guys, that's good to know. It's a big change, from 74000 to 125000! It's so good to have a tacho again, I hate driving without one. I also found some black leather seats from a TT at the same scrappy, so the next job is to make up some custom rails. It should be a massive improvement...

    Jimbo's magnificent K11

I had a massive win today. I found a instrument cluster at the scrappy in a Super S (with a tacho), I got it for a fiver. I've done loads of research into putting a tacho in, and I was fully prepared for many hours of frustration and trial and error, I found so much confusing and contradictory...

I've been busy! Painted. Door cards retrimmed. Spotlights and bike rack on. Confusing the neighbours.... ....because it started raining as soon as I started painting the hot rod style door art. It's not finished yet. Alto springs and corsa dampers.

I honestly have no idea. They came off a freshly imported glanza and have no brand on them, so they really could be anything. Tell you what though, they are LIGHT!

Has anyone rattle canned their car?

That's pretty much it. A brush for the nooks and crannies, a roller, and some paint. I'm using military paint on this one, in the past I've used pretty much anything I could get my hands on. I'm not thinning the paint on this one, as I'm not after a super smooth finish, but you can actually get...

Has anyone rattle canned their car?

If you're going for a matt finish, just roller it. It's certainly the cheapest way, and BY FAR the quickest and easiest. The beginning of mine:

Has anyone rattle canned their car?

Yeah, lots more. It depends on what finish you're looking for. To get it really smooth and shiny you'll have to do a lot of sanding between coats as the coverage from a can is nowhere near as smooth as a gun. Lots of paint = lots of cans = lots of money.

As it stands after the first month of ownership. I had a proper "LOL, wtf am I doing?" moment today when I stepped back and saw it from this angle....
