How hard is it to acquire one of those mines high lift cams?? Was that a standard aftermarket thing at the time these were being sold?

I've seen the mines ST ecus on Japanese auctions but from what I've read of them they are near impossible to reconfigure and are set to 100 octane fuel...so useless to us that don't live in the land of mythical high octane fuel
